I'm really happy I could finish this drawing finally. It's taken me a lot of time because I tried making the lineart with different tools (With the brush instead of the pen tool). The result and the time aren't worth it, sincerely xDDD the result is almost the same, the only difference is that my wrist hurts a lot now xDDDD

I like very much this outfit from the movies and OVA's, but it has lots of little details that usually I feel so lazy to draw hahahaha One thing I've noticed recently is that somehow, depending of the outfit Lina wears it changes the personality I see in her. With this one she looks much more independant and badass xDDDD (Perhaps it's because of the colours too. It's not the same wearing red and yellow than cute pink xD)

Probably the next work I will do of Slayers will be a GouLina adult picture. I can't upload it here, so stay tunned to my Tumblr and Pixiv account in the next days/weeks

I hope you like it, thanks for looking! ^^

Really nicely done. I love your work especially on those gems and shadows. You are right about lineart not being worth it brushing it with tablet. I agree on the subject of her clothes. I always thought that Lina sometimes looks more adult in films than in anime wearing her usual stuff when in fact it is actually the oposite. I would like to ask if you use some draft as an inspiration. It is really hard for me to imagine drawing character withount some visual inspiration. I hope it will get better with practice but I fear the worst. Do you have some trick that you use to get character pose right or is it just practice over and over again?

I draw all my pictures entirely from 0. I don't use references, I just draw a simple sketch and keep on working over it correcting proportions and anathomy :)

If you're starting to draw or you are just interested, it's very important to make a very good body sketch (The classic stick body). When you have a pose, and the proportions are ok, you have to work on anathomy. I always draw all the bodies nude and add the clothes over it : )

It's a bit complicated, but the only way to master it is practicing everyday. It could help drawing objects or models from nature to make your eye more comfortable and gain some visual memory too

Thanks for quick reply. You got some really good points. Up until now I tried to draw looking at picture that was available in bad quality and sketched it by hand in a way I wanted it to look. This makes me feel like I stole art from people. I kind of thought it will take extensive practice to draw from my head and was lazy to do the research. Thanks for your advice. Thanks to you I realized that if I am not going to start from basics than I will never get better. Getting to the level of artist you are will take me really long time thou. If you don't mind me asking. How long do you draw like this?

Well... I've been drawing since I was a child. I started studying arts on highschool, I changed to an arts school to study drawing, sculpture, etc. When I finished highschool I decided to study Fine Arts career at university. It was a 5 years long career where I had the oportunity to study drawing, anathomy, painting, and lots of more things that helped me a lot during the years. But if I'm sincere, most of the efforts I had to do where at home by my own. That's why practicing is very important : )
